Testing & Training

Verify language ability, gauge interpreter skill, and develop the interpreters your organization relies on — all from a single program.

Testing & Training

Confirm proficiency. Build skilled interpreters.

Knowing an employee speaks a second language isn't the same as knowing they can communicate clearly when the stakes are high. LanguageArts brings together language assessments, interpreter evaluations, and training so healthcare, insurance, legal, government and utility organizations can confirm proficiency and develop skilled interpreters — with live, evaluator-led sessions or a streamlined online format, whichever suits your team and timeline.

Assess language

Language Testing

Make sure bilingual employees genuinely command both languages before they speak with customers or patients. These assessments measure professional-level proficiency rather than everyday conversational comfort.

Language Proficiency Test LPT

A live oral interview led by a trained evaluator that examines grammar, vocabulary, fluency and overall command of a target language, scored against an established proficiency scale. It confirms whether an employee is ready to communicate professionally, with findings summarized in a written report.

eLanguage Proficiency Test eLPT

The self-scheduled online edition of the LPT, holding candidates to the same proficiency standards across a broad set of languages. Candidates register and complete the assessment on their own time, and results are easy to fold into HR systems and records.

Bilingual Fluency Assessment BFA

A live evaluation of spoken English and a target language for customer- and patient-facing staff such as receptionists and medical assistants, including the general terminology a healthcare environment calls for. It confirms that non-clinical employees can assist people confidently in both languages.

eBilingual Fluency Assessment eBFA

The online counterpart to the BFA, checking the same dual-language fluency and general healthcare vocabulary through a self-service platform. A fast, scalable way to screen front-line bilingual staff without booking a live session.

Evaluate interpreters

Interpreter Testing

Whether you're screening newcomers or measuring seasoned interpreters, these evaluations show exactly where each person stands. Each comes as a live, rater-led session or a convenient online version.

Interpreter Readiness Assessment IRA

A focused screening that indicates whether a bilingual employee is prepared to start interpreting, reviewing language proficiency, comprehension and basic conversion skills. Delivered live by a trained rater, it's a sensible first step before committing to training.

Interpreter Readiness Assessment — Online eIRA

The online edition of the IRA, providing the same readiness screening through a self-administered platform instead of a live phone session. Reach for it when you need to evaluate candidates quickly and across larger groups.

Interpreter Skills Test IST

A deeper, live evaluation for working interpreters that measures advanced language proficiency, interpreting protocols and terminology while highlighting where to improve. It assesses developed skill rather than entry-level readiness.

Interpreter Skills Test — Online eIST

The online edition of the IST, evaluating the same advanced interpreting competencies through a self-administered platform rather than a live session. A practical option for benchmarking experienced interpreters on a flexible schedule.

Develop talent

Interpreter Training Courses

Help capable bilingual staff grow into confident, professional interpreters. Our foundational course combines flexible online learning with live instruction so new interpreters build real, applied skills.

Fundamentals of Interpreting

An entry-level course that introduces bilingual employees and volunteers to professional interpreting — covering interpreter ethics and standards, attentive listening, memory and note-taking techniques, managing more than one task at once, and confident delivery. It pairs self-paced online modules with live, instructor-led sessions and finishes with a Certificate of Completion.
